New KTM models for 2008 season

New and available to hire for the 2007/8 season, we are introducing 2 new models (of the mechanical kind) from Austria. The orange glow of KTM has arrived and we have the latest 990 Adventure and the all new and popular Superduke. Here's a short insight as to what to expect.

KTM 990 Adventure

Imagine KTM's designer with a blank drawing board asking his superior, "what would you like?" his answer being "think...New Zealand" this is probably a very close match to that criteria.
Want to ride pretty much anywhere? then this could be what you need. With the proven KTM LC8 (liquid cooled 8 valve)engine, combined with 48mm throttle bodies from the fuel injection, it can get there, (anywhere you want to go remember) as quick and effortlessly as you could wish to.
A comfortable riding position at 860mm (a tad under 34")makes you really feel like you are in control, the pillion comfort is also good too.
2007 Triumph Tiger joins GoTourNZ.com fleet The tubular chromoly frame does an excellent job of keeping this great package on line, it handles far better than it should for a bike of this style.
Stopping and controling all this fun is not a problem either, with brembo hardware and braided lines, bringing it to a halt via its adventure tyres quite adeqately, for a bike that is far from adequate! Enjoy!

KTM Superduke

The Superduke has, in the past had a bit of a reputation, not for bad reliability but more for its barking mad performance and handling. The previous model did have some issues with fuelling, aespecially at low revs. This one has had all the gremlins sorted, the suspension is now crisp and complient, the fuelling much better at low revs, but its still a very intense and invigorating machine to ride.
Still the same LC8 engine, shared with the 990 Adventure, it cant quite go anywhere like the adventure, but it can now go further, thanks to a new 18.5L fuel tank.

Stopping this "black belt on wheels" isn't a problem for the radially mounted Brembo Callipers, they do have a good progressive feel.
The riding position is very comfortable, but, you guessed it, an aggressive one too, but thats the idea, this is a streetfighter, it dares you to do things you're not supposed to. That said, it can be ridden sedately too, if you wish. As KTM say in the brochure..."light as a Bonsai. Powerful as a Sumo Wrestler, .....Sayonara normallity"
